Penn State Sustainability Alumni Interest Group

Deadline to Apply: None

We are the new Penn State Sustainability Alumni Interest Group (PSSAIG) and we want to introduce you to a glimpse of what it means to be a sustainability-minded alum!

Were you involved in sustainability efforts at your campus? Did you have a major that honed in on sustainability practices? Are you an alum or graduating senior who is curious about sustainability?

Our mission as an AIG is to support Penn State alumni working in and interested in sustainability issues by:

  • Creating a network of alumni interested in making an impact at Penn State and globally to develop a sustainable future;
  • Connecting alumni with the current sustainability landscape, including action planning, research, programming, curriculum, and outreach emerging from Penn State; and
  • Providing opportunities to mentor and support the next generation of sustainability leaders from Penn State’s student body.

Sustainability is a question of growing social, political, cultural, environmental, and economic urgency that speaks deeply to the legacy Penn State alumni wish to leave for future generations. Building on Penn State’s comprehensive definition of sustainability informed by the 17 Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the PSSAIG seeks to mobilize alumni to engage with these issues. PSSAIG will connect members with each other, faculty, and current students from across disciplines in support of Penn State’s strategic commitment to sustainability.

We have a lot of ideas for activities, events, and opportunities for you to get engaged in the coming months, and we want YOU to be a part of it! To join us, complete a survey by clicking this link.
