Education Program Coordinator, Landscape U

The Pennsylvania State University is seeking an Education Program Coordinator to schedule courses/programs and provide logistical support for a National Science Foundation (NSF)-funded National Research Traineeship (NRT) program. 

This transdisciplinary training program, called Landscape-U, creates partnerships between graduate students and managers, policy-makers, and/or entrepreneurs to co-create solutions to solve contemporary environmental challenges at landscape scales. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the planning, communication, implementation, and evaluation of the training program in close collaboration with the faculty team. Landscape-U unites graduate students and faculty from multiple colleges, including cross-college graduate degree and dual-title programs in ecology, human dimensions of natural resources, and international agriculture and development. Specific activities of the Program Coordinator include recruitment of students into the program, especially underrepresented minorities, management and coordination of workshops and the program’s website, assistance with program evaluation, development of outreach and educational materials, and coordination of placement of students in internships with non-governmental organizations and/or the private sector.  

This position requires that the person have the ability to work effectively both independently and as a team. This is a 75%  full-time equivalency appointment (30 hours per week/year round), funded for one year from the date of appointment, with possibility for renewal.
