Research Description

I examine how families and other institutions influence individual health and, thereby, population-level health disparities. My research emphasizes the economic and social status drivers of health.

Teaching Description

I teach a general education integrative studies course on the "Social Determinants of Health" and upper-division undergraduate and graduate courses on understanding the patterns and sources of American inequality in a course entitled "Social Stratification"
