Research Description
The focus of Capriles' research is on the development of human-environmental interactions over time and thus, involves addressing questions about how societies adapted to changing environmental conditions given both intrinsic (population, social organization) and extrinsic (climate change) causes and producing systemic reorganization.
Teaching Description
Capriles teaches Anth 432: Environmental Archaeology, which is focused on understanding how humans have dealt with environmental change over time including theoretical concepts, a survey of research methods used, and a series of case studies.
