Fall 2024This course explores current environmental problems and human development in the context of historical and contemporary views of the relation of humans and nature. It examines differing conceptions of nature¿s value, human values, and the human condition more generally. It also investigates how distinct social, economic, and political ideologies and systems affect the human relation to nature, and how the ethical problems that arise from such systems may be critically evaluated and potentially resolved.
