2021 Theme: Reimagining the Future

Join us for the second virtual BECC conference (with a potential in-person component, if safe). This year’s event will build on the overwhelming success of previous BECC conferences at which 500+ participants discussed innovative policy and program strategies, shared important research findings, and engaged in building dynamic new networks and collaborations.

BECC is more than just a virtual conference – it is a fun social community that is passionate and excited about mitigating climate change. The conference prides itself on innovative ways to encourage socializing and networking while providing the highest quality presentations and content.

Thought leaders from around the world

Each year, BECC brings sought-after speakers to engage participants on diverse topics of interest and 2021 will be no different. We hope that you have your calendars marked, because we’re so honored to have Michael Pollan as our Keynote Speaker in 2021! We’re starting the conference off right with an opening keynote, titled “Reimagining the Future of Food,” featuring an interview of writer, teacher and activist, Michael Pollan by one of America’s most honored and experienced environmental journalists and the founding director of the new Initiative on Communication and Sustainability at Columbia University’s Earth Institute, Andrew Revkin. Michael Pollan will discuss the connections between food systems, behavior and climate change.

Over 150 speakers and 30 sessions

BECC features plenary sessions, lighting presentations, and virtual poster sessions covering over 18 topical areas requested by past BECC attendees. Our speakers are selected by a panel of expert reviewers. New research is emphasized. For five hours a day, over four days, you can click and choose your sessions. Not what you want? Jump to another session. Miss a session? Watch it “on-demand” on your schedule.

All work and no play? Not at BECC

We challenged our talented, creative, and popular social committee to make sure that attendees connect and engage with thought leaders, sustainability advocates, funders, program developers, technical experts, policymakers, and an ever-growing BECC family while having fun. Join us!
